Departs from: Waitohi Downs.
On leaving the stables we ride across horse paddock around to bluff opposite irrigation intake. Leaving the Hurunui River behind us we zig-zag our way up to Stoney Face Saddle, on up ridge to summit and view the splendor of the Hurunui Plain, Balmoral Forest, Amuri Basin and Banks Peninsular to the far south. Riding along the ridge past Monument Rock, we descend down the slope past deer paddocks leaving the magnificent scenery as we return to the stable.
