1 Day Trip - The Chutes Rapid

Our one day trip takes us around to the Hurunui River past the highlights of our Half Day Trip.Travelling up the river, past sheep, cattle and deer to Kanuka Hills we have lunch and boil the billy above the swirling water of the Chutes Rapid. We ride on up the track into a saddle overlooking the plains below, where we can see spectacular scenery in every direction. Following along the ridge we return to Waitohi Downs, past the airstrip and fertilizer bin, down the track, past the stallion to the cattle yards, where the wild boar greets the horses on our way back to the stable. BBQ meal available on request at an extra charge
